About Our Doctors
Doug Gordon, D.M.D., M.S.
Dr. Doug Gordon grew up in Carlisle, a small town south of Dayton, where his father was a 6th grade teacher, and watching his father in his classroom helped him know from an early age that he wanted to work with children in some capacity. So, after college Doug entered dental school at the University of Kentucky hoping to specialize in pediatric dentistry and spent the following three years at Children's Hospital in Cincinnati to reach that goal. While training there, Dr. Gordon was exposed to basic orthodontics for kids. He loved that experience so much that he decided to get a second specialty in orthodontics.
Dr. Gordon headed back to his alma mater in Lexington from 1995 to 1998 to complete a master's degree and certificate in orthodontics. Immediately following graduation, he began practicing in Greenville, later adding a Troy location in 2006.
Doug used to enjoy hobbies in his spare time, however, he and his wife Michelle were blessed with four children. Now the Gordon family is busy with diapers and Disney Junior - and have never been happier!
Congratulations to Dr. Gordon on his recent retirement. We wish him and his family the very best.
Lindsay DeSantis, D.D.S., M.S.D.
Lindsay DeSantis grew up in Williamsburg, Indiana, and attended Northeastern High School, where she graduated as valedictorian. As a teenager, she was a patient of Dr. Gordon's. She earned her undergraduate degree from DePauw University, a master's degree from IUPUI, and her doctoral degree from the Indiana University School of Dentistry. During dental school, she received the American Association of Orthodontists Award for exceptional interest in the development of the oro-facial complex, given to one senior in her class. She then went on to complete her Master of Science in Dentistry and orthodontic residency program at the Indiana University Department of Orthodontics and Oral Facial Genetics.
Lindsay is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. She has taken a step beyond most orthodontists to become board certified. Certification means that an orthodontist has successfully completed a rigorous examination of her or her skills, knowledge, and expertise by having her own patient cases evaluated and graded on the quality of the finished result by her own peers. Lindsay has also been published in the Journal of Dental Education for her orthodontic research.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Lindsay enjoys many outdoor activities including running, waterskiing and fishing. She loves to travel and has experienced some of her happiest memories participating in medical mission trips to Ecuador and El Salvador during college. Serving others is meaningful to her, which is obvious to all her patients. Of course, one of her greatest enjoyments is spending time with family and friends.
